Sunset Snowbank

Sunset Snowbank

Sunset Snowbank, acrylic on canvas 8x10"

I was on the freeway when this amazing light was glowing off the Minneapolis downtown buildings.  I had to chase this vision down to grab the sunset before it was gone.  It was one of those days when it was so cold it hurt to breathe.   I veered off a ramp to find the nearest side street parallel to the freeway with a view of downtown, taking about 25 pics with my cell phone to get the right shot.  Thank God the side streets were pretty empty, cause I was jumping out, taking a few pics, walking down down the street, jumping back into the car then doing it all over again on the other side of the freeway.  Sometimes ya gotta do what ya gotta do.  Also, I have a nasty habit of taking pics of the scenery when I’m driving.  I swear I’m still paying attention to the road.  Sometimes the view is just too good to pass up.  I’ve got a painting on the back burner of a close up of downtown, from when I was sitting in bumper to bumper traffic on a curved off ramp bridge.
